Tampa Bay Beaches
Clearwater Beach
- Rank one of the best beaches in the world. Come for the beaches, but stay for the shopping, dining, and live entertainment Clearwater’s revitalized downtown area has to offer. The Cleveland Street District, overlooking the beautiful Clearwater Harbor and Marina, provides a stunning backdrop for a variety of concerts, festivals, and exhibits that delight throughout the year.
Fred Howard Park
- Fred Howard Park's location provides access to the Gulf of Mexico by a 1-mile long causeway. The white sandy beach is a very popular north county swim area and also provides a perfect location for visitors to enjoy many spectacular sunsets. Nesting ospreys and eagles may be viewed by park visitors as they fish for food in the surrounding waters. Dolphins, and occasionally manatees, are seen in the area. The causeway is used for sunbathing, fishing, and exercising.
Hudson Beach
- A beachfront seawall and boardwalk provide plenty of access to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Fishing from the shore is permitted. Or you can launch your own kayak or canoe from a convenient launch at the south end of the park. Motorboaters will find a paved boat ramp with ample trailer parking and launch facilities. A privately owned full-service marina with boat storage is available adjacent to the park property. Overnight parking is available at the boat ramp area for those who like to fish at night.
Davis Island Beach
- Anchored boats sometimes crowd the beach in front of this sandy spot near downtown Tampa. It may not be the best for swimming but it's fine for reading or sunning.
Ben T. Davis Beach
-
Fronting Tampa Bay and offering one of the first sights of sand for those entering Tampa via Tampa International Airport, this narrow beach is attractively landscaped and stretches along the Courtney Campbell Causeway that connects Tampa with Clearwater.
Honeymoon Island
- Sandy shores surround this island getaway, though some are rocky. Dogs on leashes are welcomed on the southeast side and boaters can anchor off parts of the north shore.
John's Pass Beach
- This popular beach borders the pass, so a constant parade of boats and watercraft can be seen on the water. The beach often has riptides, so swimmers have to be careful. But if you would rather sun than swim, it's a good destination.
St. Pete Beach
- The white sandy beaches and calm waters make this beautiful island a popular family destination on weekends and an ideal place to share a long walk. Water sports abound, including waverunners, scuba diving, fishing, parasailing, and more.
Pine Island Beach
- Swim in the Gulf of Mexico from Florida’s Adventure Coast’s beautiful Alfred McKethan/Pine Island Park. Spend some time on the sand and in the water. From the new observation deck, watch for occasional dolphin sightings and view the sun dramatically drop to the horizon. This 3-acre park features a beach and swimming area, picnic tables, shelters and barbecue grills. A volleyball court and new playground are also popular amenities. Willy’s Tropical Breeze Cafe serves up tasty surfside fare and beverages.
